A bloody good time!
What could be more fun than seeing an old man go full John Wick on some nazis? Nothing! Sisu follows a solitary prospector who crosses paths with Nazis on a scorched-earth retreat in northern Finland. When the Nazis steal his gold, they quickly discover that they have just tangled with no ordinary miner. And no matter what the Nazis throw at him, he goes to outrageous lengths to get his gold back.

Let's start with the weak points of the film. Firstly, there's little to no story here. It's very simple and predictable and lacks some much-needed dialogue. I think that the writer's and the director's intentions were pretty clear and straightforward here. No dialogue, just full-on entertainment. I personally had a great time with it but I would have loved to have some more story and a lot more dialogue. Speaking of dialogue, I personally thought that the directional style here was very inconsistent. I liked the subtle Tarantino style here and thought it added a nice touch here. Moreover, since our protagonist is facing nazis here they should speak their native language which is German and that was not the case here which is a huge disappointment in my opinion. It made the dialogue look bad and weird. I would have loved it if the entirety of the movie was in German but it is what it is. My only hope for the sequel is to expand on the storytelling aspect of the film as well as improve the directional style.

On the bright side of things, what makes this movie good are the badass action sequences. Just imagine an old man going full John Wick on some nazis. I mean what more can you ask? The action is brutal, thrilling, and bloody as hell. Jorma Tommila, Aksel Hennie, and Jack Doolan were amazing in their roles and did an overall good at keeping the film entertaining. I must warn you that some of the "unbelievability" factor that we saw in John Wick Chapter 4 is present here and that might ruin some of the action for you. Additionally, I have to mention that the cinematography and the score here were splendid and added more to that Tarantino style. As for me, I had an overall fun time with "Sisu" and would definitely recommend it if you're looking to spend 80 minutes.
