No Hard Feelings

To be honest, when I first watched the trailer for this film, I wasn't that excited due to it looking like a generic comedy.  Well, I am more than happy to be proven wrong 'cause we finally got a good R-rated comedy! "No Hard Feelings" follows wealthy parents who are looking for someone to “date” their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy, before he leaves for college. Maddie is soon tasked to date their son in order to save her life. 

In my opinion, for me to enjoy a good R-rated comedy, it needs to have some decent to good writing with good jokes that never feel out of place or weirdly written. Thankfully, this was not the issue here. The story might seem generic and boring at first but it opened up later in the film in some unexpected and funny ways. It was interesting to see how they explored the relationship between Maddie and Percy. An odd pair certainly makes any piece of media more fun to watch which made the comedy work here. I was constantly laughing out loud at how funny this movie was which took me by surprise. I really loved the film in general and liked how they explore that relationship that had me invested from the start of the film and that is a sign of good writing.

I have to praise the performances in this movie because they were fantastic. Jennifer Lawrence stole the show with her performance. I was extremely surprised and shocked to see how much she felt comfortable with her body on screen. She did not shy away and I appreciate that. On the other hand, Andrew Barth Feldman did a phenomenal job on his part. The dedication of this man is insane!! This guy skipped Harvard to star in a film and he has my utmost respect. He certainly has a bright future ahead of him and I cannot wait to see what he does next.  Furthermore, their chemistry was great and felt natural! I really don't know what to say anymore because I can assure you that you'll have an extremely fun time in the theater.
