One of the best films of 2022!
Once in a while, a movie slips under my radar. I watched "Anatomy of a Fall" out of pure boredom and came out of the theater blown away. "Anatomy of a Fall" follows a woman who is suspected of her husband's murder, and their blind son faces a moral dilemma as the sole witness.

I'm usually not so keen on courtroom dramas but this was a surprise to me, to say the least. What truly blew me away in this film was how it kept me hooked for the entirety of its runtime. It kept me on the edge of my seat and made me guess till the last minute. Triet's screenplay is smart, sharp, and swift! Despite that, I have an issue with the ending. While it's a rather ambiguous ending, I would rather have seen a much more explicit one. Nonetheless, the script was very well written and made those 150 minutes pass by a flash! What was on par with the script were the performances.

Sandra Hüller delivers a powerful and mesmerizing performance. She beautifully captures the grief and the confusion that her character is going through. Praise should also go to the young Milo Machado Graner. This kid delivered a heartbreaking yet strong performance and added a lot more to the emotional aspect of the film. The rest of the cast did an equally great job too! Last but not least, I have to praise the cinematography here. Simon Beaufils's cinematography is truly breathtaking! Everything from the cold color palette used to the framing was truly a marvel to my eyes! Triet's "Anatomy Of A Fall" is a well-written courtroom drama that will definitely keep you hooked from beginning to end!
