A tense and thrilling film that never looses its grip on you!
David Fincher is one of my favorite directors of all time and he never disappoints when it comes to his work! “The Killer” proves why Fincher is a perfectionist and a master at his work! “The Killer” follows an assassin who battles his employers and himself, on an international manhunt he insists isn't personal, After a fateful near-miss.

What makes this film so special to me is how it functions. It starts and continues in a very methodical way which I am a huge fan of. Rarely do films do that and when they do, I can’t help but fall in love! I love how the plot goes and how the editing complements the whole film. It’s a very systematic editing that’s quite mesmerizing and satisfying to watch! On that thought, I have to address the plot here. It’s not one of Fincher’s strongest stories but it is extremely well-told thanks to some minimal yet great writing. It does the job and it’ll leave you satisfied. Moreover, I would like to praise Fassbender’s performance here. Fassbender gives a very calm yet tense performance here and I adore it! I can’t believe he’s back after such a long time cause he’s such a phenomenal actor and I truly can’t wait to see him in future projects.

Last but not least, I would like to praise Erik Messerschmidt’s glorious cinematography! Everything from the lens used to the color palette made for a visually pleasing film! Each frame felt so intricately calculated that I couldn’t help but appreciate the beauty of it! Finally, I would like to praise the sound design and one specific action sequence. The sound design in this film is truly some of the best I’ve heard this year. It amplified the editing and helped create tension in each scene. Furthermore, I would like to praise Fincher for having the most realistic fight scene in cinema! That scene was tense, brutal, and grounded and I truly admire that! I recommend watching this fantastic piece of work despite the generic and predictable plot! Can’t wait to see what Fincher’s next film is!
