Bob Marley: One Love
Rating:
Worry about a thing!
If you know me, you know that I love biopics especially musical ones so you can say that I'm easily pleased by them. Unfortunately, "Bob Marley: One Love" failed to please me enough. "Bob Marley: One Love" follows Jamaican singer-songwriter Bob Marley who overcomes adversity to become the most famous reggae musician in the world.

What made the film feel so mediocre was how it rushed some of the important events in Marley's life. Clocking at 107 minutes, the film is rushed and feels like a small part of something bigger and better. I would have loved to see the actual events instead of reading a boring text on screen. This is sadly used many times in the movie and might upset some viewers who were hoping to get something more out of this film. An additional 1 hour could have been hugely beneficial to the movie but this is what we get!

On the bright side of things, the acting and music choices made the movie fun and entertaining. First off, I have to praise Kingsley Ben-Adir's performance here. He perfectly portrayed Marley's voice and mannerisms. Don't get me wrong here, he's no Austin Butler but he did a damn good job at portraying the reggae singer. Praise should also go towards Lashana Lynch who gave an equally great performance as Rita Marley. Of course, no musical biopic is complete without some great tunes. "Bob Marley: One Love" felt swift and entertaining due to the use of popular and catchy songs by the famous singer. Whether or not you're a fan of this music, this will make the movie more entertaining. All in all, I would recommend waiting for a digital release of this film as it's a rushed yet fun biopic that you'll probably forget in a day or two.
