Furiosa A Mad Max Saga

9 years ago, George Miller blessed us with one of the best action films of the century. Well, Miller has done it yet again and blessed us with another great film. "Furiosa A Mad Max Saga" follows young Furiosa, who falls into the hands of a great biker horde led by the warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel, presided over by the Immortan Joe. As the two tyrants fight for dominance, Furiosa soon finds herself in a nonstop battle to make her way home.

First, I must praise Miller's genius and excellent storytelling here. 9 years ago, Miller introduced us to Furiosa in Mad Max Fury Road (2015). Never would I have thought, that a film centering around one of the wives would be that interesting. My only problem is it would have benefitted from having more interactions between key characters which would have made the drama better. Despite not rivaling its sequel's story and being predictable, it still managed to entertain us with dazzling action sequences and a strong villain. On that thought, I have to talk about Dementus! From Feyd Rautha to Proximus Ceaser, this year has been an amazing year for villains and Dementus was yet another amazing one. One thing I absolutely love about his character is how he changes his personality throughout the movie. His change in personality is accompanied by a change of color in his dress. I was blown away by Miller's attention to detail and creativity. Speaking of creativity, I must praise the action here. George Miller, you sir are a mastermind at having big and high-adrenaline action sequences that will leave anyone floored. At 79 years old, this guy still directs some of the best if not the best action set pieces. I watched this movie twice and the action is simply masterful. It's big, it's brutal, and it sure is epic! 

Last but not least, I have to praise the performances here. I had some doubts about her but Anya Taylor-Joy did an amazing job at bringing Furiosa to life! She channeled her inner Charlize Theron, especially in that final part. Hemsworth did an equally good job at portraying Dementus. Now the two performances that surprised me the most were Tom Burke's and Charlee Fraser's performance. They were phenomenal and wish to see them in more films.  Lastly, I have to talk about 2 negative things here that affected my experience. First off, the editing unfortunately made this film feel cheap. The over-use of dip to blacks as well as simple animations made it feel cheap and cheesy. Secondly, I have to discuss the CGI. Unfortunately, most of the CGI here felt unfinished and made the film look ugly and video gamey. Despite all that, everyone should experience this colossal film on the biggest screen possible.
