Lanthimos strikes again!
Yorgos Lanthimos is who I consider one of the best filmmakers of our time. His absurdity and unique style always keep me hooked and never fails to amaze me! Hit after hit Lanthimos never missed! "Kinds of Kindness" follows three stories that revolve around a man who tries to take control of his own life, a policeman whose wife seems like a different person, and a woman who searches for someone with a special ability.

As some of you might know by now, "Kinds of Kindness" is composed of 3 different stories that are loosely connected by a character named R.M.F. This was honestly kind of a surprise to me as it was something totally different from his past films. Now, my main problem is that these stories aren't as developed and thought-provoking as his past films. It's the same theme being repeated in 3 contexts/situations. Don't get me wrong here; I still really enjoyed those three stories that were told here, but I wish it was one big film and not 3 separate stories. Despite that, Lanthimos's absurdity made up for a lot of its shortcomings. Its absurd nature makes it really fun to watch and makes every story feel different and new despite having a recurrent theme.

What held all these stories together was that star-studded and phenomenal cast! First and foremost, I must praise Emma Stone's performance. Her collaboration with Lanthimos was nothing but a true testament to her masterful acting skills. Praise should also go towards Jesse Plemons and Willem Dafoe. Those two actors are quite the duo, and their performances were nothing short of phenomenal! Lastly, I must praise Jerskin Fendrix's fantastic score! Every scene was accentuated by the distressing piano tune and the creepy choir. While I wished Lanthimos took the other way around in telling his story, I still vastly enjoyed "Kinds of Kindness" and can't wait to see what he does next!
