Where to Watch:

The best alien film since "Aliens"!

45 years ago, the master Ridley Scott, introduced us to the Alien franchise. Since then the franchise has seen many ups and downs. When they announced Romulus, my hopes were immediately rekindled for the franchise especially knowing that Scott was involved in production. Well was it worth the hype? YES and YES! "Alien: Romulus" follows a group of space colonizers who come face to face with the most terrifying life-form in the universe while scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station.

Cailee Spaeny (Rain Carradine) in Alien: Romulus (2024)

What made Ridley Scott's "Alien" so memorable and terrifying was the atmosphere! I'm happy to report that Álvarez has succeeded in recreating the same eerie and terrifying atmosphere! It carries the whole film together and will keep you on the edge of your seat! What else will keep you on the edge of your seat is the damn Xenomorph. It's back and it's scarier than ever! Seeing it for the first time in the film sent chills down my spine and I bet it will for you too! As an interquel, the film delivers big-time story-wise!  While it may not be as good as the first two it still is pretty great thanks to its bonkers third act. Speaking of that, I have to say one thing about THAT third act: That twist had my jaw on the floor for 20 minutes! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was scary, wild, and terrifying as hell! That entire act was made of pure nightmares!

Isabela Merced (Kay) in Alien: Romulus (2024)

What floored me even more was the cinematography. Experiencing this work of art on the big screen was sensational! The scale of it was unbelievable! All of that was possible thanks to the practical sets that shine here. Kudos to Álvarez and Scott for making this film feel even more grounded and scary with those sets! You could say that my eyes and ears were feasting that day! Finally, I must praise the performances here! Cailee Spaeny the star you are! Spaeny proves yet again that she's a very talented and capable actress with her performance! Praise should also go towards Isabela Merced and David Jonsson for their amazing performances. Merced surprised me with her emotional performance and seeing Jonsson get a big role made me smile especially after seeing him in Rye Lane. In a nutshell, "Alien: Romulus" is the best alien film in the franchise since Cameron's Aliens! Alien fans rejoice!
