The Juice is loose!

Tim Burton is who I consider one of the greatest directors of our generation! He's always known for his weirdly dark vision. 36 years after the release of the original, Burton finally blessed us with the sequel "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice"! "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" follows Lydia Deetz whose life soon gets turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter discovers a mysterious portal to the afterlife. When someone says Beetlejuice's name three times, the mischievous demon gleefully returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.

Micheal Keaton (Beetlejuice) in "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" (2024)

First and foremost, I must praise Burton's exceptional direction here! Burton masterfully mixes horror, comedy, and unique visual sequences for one hellish ride! The film oozes with Burton's signature identity and never loses its grip on you for the entirety of its runtime. Secondly, I must discuss the story. This is probably my biggest gripe with the film, and I'll explain why. Unlike the first film, the sequel lost some of its charm when it came to the story. In true Beetlejuice tradition, this film's story is all over the place. It wants to be many things at once, and it all feels a bit rushed. Despite Monica Bellucci's character having a major role in the story, her character sadly had minimal screen time and minimal development. I wish Burton would have explored this part of the story a bit more. Despite that, I still think that the story is still plenty of fun!

Winona Ryder (Lydia Deetz) and Justin Theroux (Rory)  in "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" (2024)

What was also really fun to see was Beetlejuice himself. Keaton is back playing the titular character, and he's better than ever! Everything from the voice to the facial expressions made for one hell of a performance! Praise should also go towards Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara for their phenomenal performances! Finally, I must praise Danny Elfman's score! This is the most Elfman score ever created by the genius himself, and I still can't stop hearing it. It still carries the same spirit as the first film and is as whimsical and dark as ever! Overall, if you're looking for an entertaining watch, then look no further because Beetlejuice has come to the rescue!
