A bloody fun ride!

The Final Destination franchise has always been known for creating some of our traumas and for having some batshit insane moments and I'm happy to report that it continued this tradition! "Final Destination Bloodlines" follows a college student who heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle of death and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.

Final Destination Bloodlines (2025)

First off, I must discuss the story. The story honestly was nothing special, and while it tried to do something, I found it to be a bit dumb at times. The whole thing about death and why it hunts them down comes off as a bit superficial, but I wasn't surprised, as I was expecting this film to have a mediocre story. Furthermore, I never really cared for any of the characters except one or two, but like I said, no one watches those films for the story. We watch them for the gore and blood, and this film has plenty of it! Watching those gruesome kills in IMAX was a sight to behold, and some of them were pretty nasty. This is where the film excels and gets a lot more fun.

Richard Harmon (Erik Campbell) in Final Destination Bloodlines (2025)

Now, what makes some of those sequences feel a bit wonky is the CGI. The CGI in this film was quite bad. It's not Flash-level bad, but close enough. And while I know all of those sequences require a TON of CGI and VFX, I would have appreciated it more if it were done practically. Lastly, I must discuss the acting. The acting here was mixed all across the board. Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Richard Harmon, Tony Todd, and Brec Bassinger were great in their roles and made a lot of the scenes feel better. The rest of the cast, however, was mediocre. Despite all those bumps, I still really enjoyed "Final Destination Bloodlines". It's fun, it's gory, and it's one hell of a ride! Can't wait to see what they cook up next!
