One of the best animated film of 2024!

In a time where studios pump out sequels, remakes, and other junk, "Flow" feels both like a breath of fresh air and a big "F you" to the industry. "Flow" follows Cat, who is a solitary animal, but as its home is devastated by a great flood, it finds refuge on a boat populated by various species, and will have to team up with them despite their differences.

Cat, Dog, and Capybara in Flow (2024)

First and foremost, I must praise the animation here. It's one of the most gorgeous animations I've seen in a while. Everything is so well animated and well lit, too. To say that this movie is gorgeous is an understatement in my opinion, and I'm glad that it won the Oscars for best animated film. This film, being entirely directed, animated, and edited by Zilbalodis alone, is a huge achievement, and it is a big statement about what you can achieve out there! While this film may look fun on the surface, is a very sad and thought-provoking one. When the end credits rolled, I was just in awe of what Zilbalodis had done here. The story is just so deep, and while I know it might not have those intentions, it still resonated with me deeply.

Cat in Flow (2024)

Lastly, the cinematography in this film is just so beautiful. It's extremely well-framed and very well-lit. The third act in particular was a jaw-dropping one, with how beautiful it was. Furthermore, the score, while minimalistic, was beautiful and fit the whole vibe that the film was aiming for. Overall, I strongly recommend watching "Flow" for anyone looking to watch a cute and thought-provoking film!
