The best Disney live action remake!
Miss after miss, Disney hasn't had much success when it comes to live-action remakes. Thankfully, "Lilo & Stitch" finally turned the tables for Disney. This is, in my opinion, their best live-action remake to date! "Lilo & Stitch" follows a lonely Hawaiian girl who befriends a runaway alien, helping to mend her fragmented family.

First off, let' start by discussing the story here. Unlike many of Disney’s past lifeless remakes, this film's got some heart and soul poured into it. And while it changes some of the story beats from the original and removes a couple of characters, and takes some creative liberties, I still enjoyed it. The ending, in particular, was amazing and made me tear up. It's got enough heart, and that's what made it stand out then the other live-action remakes. Despite that, I was still a bit disappointed by some of those "changes" in the story, but that was nothing but a minor issue for me. Moreover, I must praise Dean Fleischer Camp's direction here. "Marcel The Shell With The Shoes On" being his last film proves why this film was such a success among the audience and why it works well.

Now, can we talk about how adorable that blue furry monster is? Huge props to the animation and CG team! Stitch is back, and better than ever! Freed from the constraints of realism this time, Disney finally did justice to a CG character in a live-action remake. Every detail, from his expressions to his movements, is just perfect and so damn adorable! Of course, Stitch wouldn’t be the same without Chris Sanders returning to voice him, and yes, his iconic voice still shines! Praise should also go to Maia Kealoha, who also did a good job at bringing Lilo to life! Furthermore, Zack Galifiniakis and Billy Magnussen as Jumba and Pleakly were great in their roles and were pretty funny too! Now, did anyone ask for this film? No! But Disney will keep pumping out live-action remakes, and "Lilo & Stitch" is the best one yet!
