A solid entry in the John Wick franchise!

The John Wick franchise is probably one of my favorite action movie franchises, if not my favorite action franchise of all time! When they announced that they were making "Ballerina," my hype was through the roof, especially after "John Wick Chapter 4". Well, was it worth the hype? "Ballerina" follows Eve, an assassin trained in the traditions of the Ruska Roma organization, who sets out to seek revenge after her father's death.

Ana De Armas (Eve) in Ballerina (2025)

First off, let's start by discussing the story. Look, it's your classical revenge story with some neat twists along the way. While I wasn't a fan of those twists, I still enjoyed the story told here. Don't get me wrong, it's no John Wick, but it's strong enough to stand on its own feet. Now let's get into what makes all those films so damn great and that is the action sequences. The action in this film was just so damn good and extremely well-choreographed. It's bloody, fast, and damn entertaining to watch! The final act, in particular, was a joy to watch, especially the scenes with the flamethrower!

Ana De Armas (Eve) in Ballerina (2025)

Last but not least, I have to praise the performances here. Ana De Armas finally got the role that she deserved, and kicked ass in it! Furthermore, praise should also towards Gabriel Byrne who did a terrifyingly good job at playing the villain! The rest of the cast also delivered on their parts and were phenomenal in their roles! Lastly, I need to praise the score here! The John Wick films aren't complete without the pulse-pounding score, and Tyler Bates and Joel J. Richard delivered again, one hell of a score! Overall, while "Ballerina"  might not be as great as the John Wick films were, it still is a great and worthy entry in the franchise!
